I am not a fan of Hindi movies. Usually my wife has to drag me kicking and screaming to watch a Hindi movie with her . The same happened this weekend when I accompanied my wife to watch a Hindi movie named Dangal (has English Subtitles). Boy, was I in for a surprise. This movie is about the sport of wrestling and that special bond between father and daughter. The movie was a moving one and had me in tears on a more than one occasion.
The reason I write about this amazing movie is that it is a truly motivational movie . The actor in the movie Aamir Khan plays the role of a wrestler in his youth and in his older days. He choose not to use a body costume, rather to actually gain weight and then loose it.
Look at the pictures above where he has gained weight and then lost it to build muscle mass. This shows the power of motivation. To play the role of the old wrestler , the actor wanted to feel old and obese and so choose to gain the weight needed to play that role. Later he wanted to feel young and built and so choose to build his body (took several months) so he could play the role of the young wrestler. The actor used a healthy diet and exercise to achieve his goals. Please watch this you tube clip.
What can we learn from this exemplary actor’s achievement?
1. That weight loss (as well as weight gain) is possible.
2. Motivation is a key ingredient.
3. A healthy Diet and Exercise can help us achieve this goal.
